The “Rock Yourself To Sleep” Tour
If this show had sold out, I wouldn’t have made it there. I’m glad it didn’t. Not all of the bands were great, but everyone put on a good show, at least.
Arla Mae - These guys played before the actual concert started. Uh, I’ll just be nice and say that they put on a good show for a new band…
Texas In July - I’d only previously heard a couple songs from them. They’re really good.. Go check them out.
Woe Is Me - I’m not a big fan of the high-pitched, almost girly clean vocals, but they put on a good show and didn’t sound bad. And their cover of “Tick Tock” was great, although I absolutely hate the original.
The Word Alive - The singer reminds me of Spencer from Underoath, with red highlights and no dreads. They were okay. Good show.
For Today - Holy crap. So good. Need I say more? These guys are one of the best metal bands you’ll ever hear… I’m pretty sure my brother and I both lost our voices during their set.
We Came As Romans - I thought I would hate these guys, but they were okay. Surprisingly decent, actually. I’m still not a fan of high-pitched clean vocals, though.
Overall, this concert was definitely worth the money and the slippery drive home. I’m looking forward to seeing For Today again eventually.
